The Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine is one of the leading research units in the fields of natural sciences and medicine in Georgia and throughout the region.

The main objectives of the Faculty are to:

• train highly professional specialists and researchers in natural sciences, medicine, and related disciplines using the latest scientific and practical knowledge;
• conduct scientific research of national, regional, and global significance, including research with practical applications in industry;
• integrate research and teaching in order to develop relevant skills for students and graduates, enhancing their employability;
• apply the knowledge and experience accumulated at the university to promote the welfare and development of society, to foster democratic values, and support Georgia’s Euro-integration efforts.

The Faculty brings together several research institutes and laboratories, where university professors, researchers, and students conduct collaborative scientific research. The research carried out at the Faculty in various fields is among the leading force in the South Caucasus region and is on par with universities in Eastern Europe.

The Faculty offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs, as well as a joint residency program in medicine and postgraduate education. The Faculty creates an attractive environment for learning, research, and self-development, with active participation of students in public and scientific activities.

Highly qualified academic and visiting staff offer students a wide range of courses in both Georgian and English, providing opportunities for interdisciplinary education.

The Faculty’s research units and teaching laboratories in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, and neuroscience are equipped with modern equipments, which support the development of practical and research skills and enhance graduates’ competitiveness in the job market.

The Faculty conducts advanced environmental and geological research and provides high-quality teaching by utilizing field research bases and a research vessel across various regions of Georgia.
